AC/DC: Black Ice

The eight year hiatus since "Stiff Upper Lip" have really sent the expectations soaring high. While not a bad album, it seems as if AC/DC's days of making historical albums are long gone by. And who can blame them for that? Taking in consideration the respectable age of these band members, it's a miracle they are still alive and well, and even more so that they are able to record new music at all. While most critics have put this album in high regard, I have to disagree with that. Sure enough, there are some songs reminding of past glories but the meat and potato-songs abound, I'm afraid. The production is flawless though and very much in line with the two past albums with a very dry yet somehow organic feel to it. It still remains to be seen if this is the final album of the band or if the old men still have some rock'n'roll in them. So, to sum this up: an absolutely OK AC/DC album but the highlights are few and far between. - defender666
