Amon Amarth's third full length re-released by Metal Blade. This album continues in much the same vein as the previous albums with nothing new really going on here. Maybe this album is somewhat more aggressive than "The Avenger" but overall, this is a stable effort with the band concept intact. Noteworthy: Track 4 is an old demo song re-recorded for the album, here the band shows their death metal roots as this song is slightly more technical and riff choked than the others. Track 10 is a cover of Possessed's "The Eyes Of Horror" and I have to say I greatly prefer the original version to this one. CD2 is once again the album performed in its entirety live and is of course a convincing dispaly of sheer routine and strength. - defender666
