After Forever: Invisible Circles

I'm not familiar with After Forever's back catalogue but operatic female fronted metal accompanied by male growls is what's portrayed here. Sure enough, Floor Jansen is one hell of a vocalist but this record somehow fails to mesmerize me. It's not that it's bad but it lacks soul to these ears. "Between Love And Fire" with its great chorus is the highlight here for me, other than that the songs sound a bit samey and the album never really takes off. A good enough record but not to the extent for me to check out earlier efforts or buying the newer ones. My edition of this album is a digibook. - defender666
