Amorphis' debut album is crushing doom death from the land of the thousand lakes. Recorded in Sunlight it has a very typical sound of that studio from this era. The vocals are very dark and the lyrics are centered around Finnish folk tales. There is one stand out track here - "Exile Of The Sons Of Uisliu" which is great, other than that there are really not many songs that will stick in your mind. A decent debut though of a young and talented band. - defender666
